Who does not enjoy living in a society where War is seen as "incomprehensible and disgusting"? Who would not want an earth where the war is not known, or even a glove that will define it? Such a world can come incredibly, especially if you expect it from people.
But through the Prophet to Him, God himself promises a world like this: "The anchor of his swords, and the lance of his lances, Folks will lift the sword against the nationality, and now they will learn the same "(Iyaya 2: 4).
It is clear that 20 million troops at the beginning of the task and about 20 battles ongoing in this world must undergo a major change in order to realize its promise. The Absolute Hypothetical Jehovah God will have to intervene in social events to realize his promise. This intervention of Jehovah will reach the pinnacle of what the Bible calls Armagedon (Revelation 16:14, 16).

Judge is God, and judgment against evil will be fair in all cases. Abraham asked, "Is not the judge of the whole world doing justice?" He learned the answer, and Jehovah is always obedient! (Genesis 18:25). Also, the Bible says that Jehovah does not enjoy the destruction of evil, it is the last chapter for Him (Ezekiel 18:32, 2 Peter 3: 9).

Whose side will you be in this battle that will determine the future of mankind? Our plots automatically think we're on the side of the good. But how can we be sure of this? The prophet Tsefania encourages us to: "Aim for righteousness and humility" (Tsefania 2: 3, IH). As the apostle Paul wrote, God's request is "to acquire complete knowledge of all truths concerning the truth and to be saved" (1 Timothy 2: 4).
Learning the truth about Jehovah and his purpose in cleansing the earth from evil is the first step toward salvation. It is the second step in living a life based on the principles of righteousness, which gives us God's approval and protection.
If we take these important steps, we can eagerly await the Armageddon battle, which will really end the wars people are leading. When this war is over, the battle for people all over the world will be incomprehensible and disgusting. "Now ye shall learn the same thing" (Haggai 2: 4).

SAVAŞIN “anlaşılmaz ve iğrenç” olarak görüldüğü bir toplumda yaşamak kimin hoşuna gitmez? Savaşın bilinmediği, hatta bu yüzden onu tanımlayacak bir kelimenin bile olmadığı bir dünyayı kim istemez? Böyle bir dünya, özellikle de insanlardan beklenirse inanılmaz gelebilir.
Ancak İşaya peygamber aracılığıyla bizzat Tanrı şöyle bir dünya vaat eder: “Kılıçlarını sapan demirleri, ve mızraklarını bağcı bıçakları yapacaklar; millet millete karşı kılıç kaldırmıyacak, ve artık cengi öğrenmiyecekler” (İşaya 2:4).
Görev başında 20 milyon askerin ve devam eden yaklaşık 20 savaşın olduğu bu dünyada, söz konusu vaadin gerçekleşmesi için büyük bir değişim olması gerektiği açık. Mutlak Güce Sahip Yehova Tanrı’nın, vaadini gerçekleştirmek için toplumsal olaylara müdahale etmesi gerekecektir. Yehova’nın bu müdahalesi, Mukaddes Kitabın Armagedon olarak adlandırdığı olayla doruğa ulaşacak (Vahiy 16:14, 16).
Son yıllarda “Armagedon” ifadesi küresel bir nükleer felakete atfen kullanılmaya başladıysa da bir sözlük bu sözcüğün temel anlamını şöyle açıklar: “İyi ve kötü güçler arasındaki büyük ve son mücadelenin yapıldığı yer.” İyilik bir gün kötülüğü yenebilecek mi, yoksa böyle bir savaş sadece bir kurgu mu?
Mukaddes Kitabın tekrar tekrar kötülüğün sona ereceğinden bahsetmesi bizi teselli edebilir. Mezmur yazarı şunların olacağını bildirdi: “Günahkârlar dünyadan tükensin, ve kötüler artık yok olsunlar” (Mezmur 104:35). Süleyman’ın Meselleri kitabında şunları okuyoruz: “Memlekette doğru adamlar oturacaklar, ve kâmiller orada kalacaklardır. Fakat kötü adamlar memleketten atılacaklar, ve hainler ondan söküleceklerdir” (Süleyman’ın Meselleri 2:21, 22).
Ayrıca Mukaddes Kitap kötülerin, güçlerini barışçıl şekilde bırakmayacaklarını, bu nedenle de Tanrı’nın, savaşlar da içinde olmak üzere tüm kötülüğü tamamen sona erdirmek için harekete geçeceğini gösterir (Mezmur 2:2). Mukaddes Kitabın bu benzersiz savaşa verdiği isim, yani Armagedon özel bir anlam taşır.
Geçmişte Megiddo Yakınlarında Gerçekleşen Savaşlar
“Armagedon” kelimesi “Megiddo Tepesi” anlamına gelir. Yizreel Ovası’nın ortasında bulunan eski Megiddo kenti, tarih boyunca birçok savaşta önemli çarpışmalara sahne olmuştur. Tarihçi Eric H. Cline kitabında şunları yazdı: “Tarih boyunca Megiddo ve Yizreel Vadisi’nde toplumların geleceğini belirleyen savaşlar yapılmıştır” (The Battles of Armageddon).
Cline’ın değindiği gibi Megiddo civarında gerçekleşen çarpışmalar birçok savaşta sonucu belirlemiştir. 13. yüzyılda Asya’nın büyük kesimini ele geçiren Moğol orduları, ilk kez bu vadide yenilgiye uğradı. General Edmund Allenby komutasındaki Britanya güçleri, I. Dünya Savaşında Osmanlı ordusunu Megiddo yakınlarında yendi. Bir askeri tarihçi, Allenby’ın zaferini “tarihte en hızlı ve net sonuç veren çarpışmalardan biri” olarak tanımladı.
Mukaddes Kitap devirlerinde de Megiddo yakınlarında önemli çarpışmalar yapıldı. Orada Hâkim Barak, Sisera komutasındaki Kenan ordularını yendi (Hâkimler 4:14-16; 5:19-21). Gideon, 300 kişilik küçük birliğiyle büyük Midyan ordusunu o bölgede bozguna uğrattı (Hâkimler 7:19-22). Kral Saul ve oğlu Yonatan, Filistî ordularının İsrailoğullarını yendiği çarpışmada, yakındaki Gilboa Dağı’nda öldüler (1. Samuel 31:1-7).
Coğrafi açıdan stratejik bir konumda bulunmaları nedeniyle Megiddo ve çevresindeki vadiler son 4.000 yılda çok sayıda savaşa tanık oldu. Bir tarihçi bu sayının en az 34 olduğunu belirtti.
Megiddo’nun stratejik konumu ve tarihiyle, simgesel “Armagedon” kelimesi arasında bir bağlantı olduğuna şüphe yok. Bu kelime Mukaddes Kitapta sadece bir defa geçse de Vahiy kitabındaki bu kullanımı Armagedon’un dünyadaki herkesin hayatını etkileyeceğini gösterir.
Mukaddes Kitaba Göre Armagedon
Geçmişte Megiddo yakınlarında tarihi belirleyen savaşlar yapıldıysa da, bu savaşların hiçbiri kötülüğü sona erdirmedi. Hiçbiri tamamen iyilerin ve tamamen kötülerin çarpıştığı bir savaş olmadı. Mantıken böyle bir savaşta Tanrı’nın rol oynamasını bekleriz. Bir defasında İsa’nın dediği gibi, “Biri dışında kimse iyi değildir, O da Tanrı’dır” (Luka 18:19). Üstelik Mukaddes Kitap Armagedon’dan Tanrı’nın savaşı olarak söz eder.
Kutsal Yazılarda bulunan Vahiy kitabı “dünyanın bütün kralları”nın “Mutlak Güce Sahip Tanrı’nın büyük günündeki savaş için” toplanacağını söyler (Vahiy 16:14). Peygamberlik niteliğindeki bu kayıt şöyle devam eder: “Onlar dünyanın krallarını İbranice Armagedon denen yere topladılar”* (Vahiy 16:16). Daha sonra Vahiy kitabı “dünya krallarıyla ordularının, ata binmiş olanla ve ordusuyla savaşmak üzere” toplanacağını açıklar (Vahiy 19:19). Bu atlı İsa Mesih olarak tanıtılıyor (1. Timoteos 6:14, 15; Vahiy 19:11, 12, 16).
Bu ayetler bize ne gösterir? Armagedon, Tanrı ile itaatsiz insanlık arasındaki savaştır. Yehova ve İsa Mesih neden böyle bir savaş başlatacak? Bunun bir nedeni “yeryüzünü mahvedenlerin” Armagedon aracılığıyla ‘mahvedilecek’ olmasıdır (Vahiy 11:18). Ayrıca bu savaşın sonucunda barış dolu bir dünya oluşacaktır. “Biz O’nun [Tanrı’nın] vaadine dayanarak, . . . . yeni bir yer bekliyoruz”; bu yeni yer “doğruluğun barınağı olacaktır” (2. Petrus 3:13).
Armagedon Neden Gereklidir?
‘Sevgi Tanrısı’ Yehova’nın, Barış Hükümdarı olan İsa’yı savaşmakla görevlendirmesi size tuhaf gelebilir (2. Korintoslular 13:11; İşaya 9:6). Bunu yapmalarının sebebini anlamak meseleyi netleştirecektir. Mezmurlar kitabı İsa’yı ata binmiş bir savaşçı olarak tarif eder. Mesih neden savaşıyordu? Mezmur yazarı şöyle açıklıyor: “Hakikat, hilim ve adalet uğruna.” Mesih, adaleti sevdiği ve kötülükten nefret ettiği için savaşıyor (Mezmur 45:4, 7).
Ayrıca Mukaddes Kitap Yehova’nın bugün dünyada gördüğü adaletsizlik karşısında hissettiklerini anlatır. İşaya peygamber, “RAB olanları gördü ve adaletin yokluğuna üzüldü” diye yazdı. “Doğruluğu göğüslük gibi kuşandı, kurtuluş miğferini başına taktı, öç giysisini giydi, gayreti kaftan gibi sarındı” (İşaya [Yeşaya] 59:15, 17, YÇ).
Güç kötülerin elinde olduğu sürece doğru kimseler barış ve güvenliği tadamayacak (Süleyman’ın Meselleri 29:2; Vaiz 8:9). Gerçekçi olmak gerekirse, yozlaşmış ve kötü insanlar oldukça bu yozlaşma ve kötülüğü yok etmek imkânsızdır. Bu nedenle kalıcı barış ve adalet ancak kötülerin ortadan kaldırılmasıyla mümkün olacaktır. Süleyman, “Kötü adam salihin fidyesidir” diye yazdı (Süleyman’ın Meselleri 21:18).
Hâkim, Tanrı olduğundan kötülere karşı hüküm her durumda adil olacaktır. İbrahim şöyle sordu: “Bütün dünyanın Hâkimi adalet yapmaz mı?” O cevabı öğrendi, Yehova her zaman adildir! (Tekvin 18:25). Ayrıca Mukaddes Kitap Yehova’nın kötüleri yok etmekten zevk almadığını söyler, bu O’nun için son çaredir (Hezekiel 18:32; 2. Petrus 3:9).
Armagedon’u Ciddiye Alın
İnsanlığın geleceğini belirleyecek bu savaşta siz kimin tarafında olacaksınız? Çoğumuz otomatik olarak iyilerin tarafında olduğumuzu düşünürüz. Fakat bundan nasıl emin olabiliriz? Tsefanya peygamber bizi şöyle teşvik eder: “Doğruluğu ve alçakgönüllülüğü amaç edinin” (Tsefanya 2:3, YÇ). Elçi Pavlus’un yazdığı gibi Tanrı’nın isteği “her tür insanın hakikatle ilgili tam bilgi edinmesi ve kurtulmasıdır” (1. Timoteos 2:4).
Yehova hakkındaki hakikati ve O’nun yeryüzünü kötülükten temizlemekle ilgili amacını öğrenmek kurtuluşa giden ilk adımdır. Doğruluk ilkelerine bağlı bir yaşam sürmekse ikinci adımdır, bu bize Tanrı’nın onayını ve korumasını sağlar.
Bu önemli adımları atarsak insanların yol açtığı savaşları gerçekten sona erdirecek olan Armagedon savaşını hevesle bekleyebiliriz. Bu savaş sona erdiğinde dünyanın her yerinde insanlar için savaş anlaşılmaz ve iğrenç olacak. “Artık cengi öğrenmiyecekler” (İşaya 2:4).
